Day 13 - Tuesday 7 May

                                                                                         
We started the day by visiting the supposed "Birthplace of the Blues"- Dockery Farms, on the outskirts of Cleveland.



Next we decided to revisit "Po Monkeys", north of Cleveland, this time in the daylight!

 
 We then headed further north, to Clarksdale, where there are countless Blues Trail markers.







 
 




 
We drive north until we arrive in Memphis, Tennessee. Our first stop is the legendary Sun Studios.
 


 
In the evening, we head down to Beale Street, where we choose B.B. King's Blues Club for dinner and music.
 
   
  

Monday, 6 May 2013

Day 12 - Monday 6 May

Pick up our rental car and head north.

                                                    

We visit several Blues landmarks as we drive on Route 61 through Mississippi.



Lunch was at the Walnut Hills restaurant in Vicksburg.











Dinner was at the Airport Grocery in Cleveland where we spent the night.

Day 11 - Sunday 5 May

Some interesting sights in NO.


The final day of the Jazzfest (we managed to go to 6 of the 7 days), Music highlights included Hall & Oates, Taj Mahal, Irma Thomas and the Black Keys, as well as some more fashion delights.

Day 10 - Saturday 4 May

We had an early lunch at the Port of Call - http://portofcallnola.com/ - good burgers!


Next it's onto the Jazzfest again. Blue sky, warm and still lots of mud. Musical highlights included Fleetwood Mac, Los Lobos and Eric Lindell, plus some more fashionistas.
