Day 18 - Sunday 12 May
After breakfast, we drive down to the Mississippi River to observe some of the sights and have lunch.
We then drive over to the Illinois-side of the Mississippi to see where the explorers Lewis and Clark headed off from.
Next stop is the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge . This was the main bridge, and part of Route 66, which connected the East and West of the USA. After it was shut down in 1968, Pete project managed the reopening of the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists in the 1996.

Day 17 - Saturday 11 May
After a leisurely start to the day, in the afternoon we went to Ebsworth Park - http://www.ebsworthpark.org/, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house in St. Louis, where Jo and Pete had arranged with their friends Sally and Marilyn (both doscents of the house), for us to have a personal tour of the house - great!

We then went for lunch in the Loop area. Chuck Berry's statue is here, and he regularly appears at Blueberry Hill - hopefully we'll get to see him perform again.
After dinner at Jo and Pete's, we are all invited to their friends, Bob and Dan, for one of, if not the most amazing evening that we cannot adequately described - entertainment extraordinaire!
Day 15 - Thursday 9 May
During the day we wander around Memphis.
In the morning we watch the Peabody ducks.
In the afternoon we tour the Rock and Soul Museum.
In the evening we attend the 2012 Blues Music Awards - https://blues.org/bluesmusicawards/#ref=bluesmusicawards_news - what a night of music!

Day 14 - Wednesday 8 May
The morning and afternoon are spent at Graceland.
Next we tour the STAX Museum.
We the stop at the Lorraine Motel (where Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated) which now forms part of the National Civil Rights Museum.
In the evening, we again head down to Beale Street, not knowing that Wednesdays are the rendezvous nights for Memphis bikies! In between looking at lots of motorbikes, bikies and other sites, we enjoy some music.
We had dinner at Flight - http://www.flightmemphis.com/ - one of our great dining experiences!
The best day and night of our trip so far!
