Day 14 - Friday 25 April

Today, for our first time, we sailed into our old home town, Pago Pago (October 1997 - May 1999), on the island of Tutuila, in American Samoa - a beautiful harbour.

We hired a local bus with our new friends Ron & Debbie and Harold & Val, and toured the island. Somethings haven't changed, such as the scenery from the ocean road, and the downpour (reminding us that AmSam is one of the highest 5 rainfall locations on earth). It was nostalgic driving past our old home (though it was blue grey when we lived in it), and the golf club.

In the afternoon, Bill caught up with 2 people he worked with, Will Sword and Kava, and enjoyed hearing about how people we knew have been - memories!

Day 13 - Thursday 24 April, again

During the evening we crossed the International Dateline.
Another leisurely day at sea.

Day 12 - Thursday 24 April

Today was spent on another idyllic small island - Dravuri Island, which is a part of Fiji.
As well as the normal sun, sand and sea, we both had massages.
Tonight we had a great dinner in the Pinnacle restaurant, with the menu based on New York's Le Cirque restaurant.

Day 11 - Wednesday 23 April

Today was spent on the Fijian Island of Viti Levu (se), in the city of Suva, which we wandered around, and Di enjoyed lunching on one of her favourite dishes, kokoda.

Day 10 - Tuesday 22 April

Today we arrived in the Fiji Islands, on Viti Levu (sw), in the city of Lautoka, where we spent a few hours walking around the shops, including obtaining access to reasonably priced and speed Internet.

Day 9 - Monday 21 April

A much appreciated day at sea following 5 consecutive land days, which were all enjoyable and each a little different.
Formal was once again the evening attire.

Day 8 - Sunday 20 April

Today we spent the day in Vanuatu, on the beautiful island of Espiritu Santo (the largest island in Vanuatu and the location of the largest US base in the South Pacific during WW2), arriving in Luganville.

We negotiated a minibus for the day, with our friends Ron & Debbie and newly weds Tim & Kelsie.
First stop was Champagne Beach, which lived up to its promotion as one of the finest beaches in the world.

Second stop was at the Ri Blue Hole, which as well as being crystal clear was the site of Bill's undignified Tarzan swing into the hole.

The final stop was at another lovely beach.
