Day 74 - Tuesday 24 June

This morning we visited the Detroit's Motown Museum - www.motownmuseum.org , which was another great music experience.

In afternoon we went to the fabulous Henry Ford Museum - www.thehenryford.org , which included, obviously a T-model Ford, an Allegheny Locomotive,  the JFK Presidential Limousine, a DC-3 plane, the bus which Rosa Parks boarded that was inspirational in the Civil Rights era, a Dymaxion House, and a Wienermobile. There was also an exhibition on "Women Who Rock".

We then crawled through a Motor City traffic jam, before driving to the northern Michigan town of Kalkaska,  where we're staying with our friends,  Chris and Mike.

Day 73 - Monday 23 June

A long day, driving from St. Louis to Detroit, via 5 states.

Day 72 - Sunday 22 June

In the morning we stopped for a photo of Chuck Berry's statue, opposite the Blueberry Hill venue.

We then visited the amazing St.Louis City Museum - www.citymuseum.org .

We had lunch next to the Fox Theater.

In the afternoon we went with Joan and Pete to visit their friends for the graduation party for their son.

Day 71 - Saturday 21 June

A leisurely day in Joan and Pete's neighbourhood.

We had lunch and a wander in the local shopping plaza, and dinner in the local strip, before going to Joan and Pete's friend, Sally's amazing home, for an evening with their friends.

Day 70 - Friday 20 June

Another lovely day in St. Louis.

We went to the beautiful St. Louis Art Museum with Joan, where we also had lunch - www.slam.org .

We then went with Joan and Pete, and their friend Nicky to the stylish Chase Park Plaza hotel - www.chaseparkplaza.com , to see Jersey Boys, the movie, followed by dinner.

We then went to the magnificently restored St. Louis Union Station Hotel for drinks and lightshow - www.stlunionstationhotel.com .

Day 69 - Thursday 19 June

A leisurely day in St. Louis.

In the late afternoon, Di went to the local shops with Joan, and Bill and Pete went to the Busch Stadium to watch the St.Louis Cardinals play (and lose to) the Philadelphia Phillies.

Day 68 - Wednesday 18 June

We departed Kansas City in the morning, and drove due east across Missouri, arriving in St. Louis early in the afternoon, where we were greeted by our friends, Joan and Pete.
