Day 18 - Thursday 17 October
Cruise Day 9.
Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Spain
We caught the local bus to Parque de San Telmo.
We then went on a self-guided walking tour of the charming Triana and historic Vegueta areas.
Then we walked down the Calle Triana, with her lovely shops.
We then had a lovely lunch at - https://vai-piano.business.site/ .
We then visited the impressive - http://www.gabineteliterario.com/ .
Next stop was Plaza de las Ranas.
Then the Teatro Perez Galdos.
We then visited Catedral de Canarias, including a trip to the top for some great views of the surrounds.
We then stopped at - http://www.casadecolon.com/ , a former Governor's home visited by Christopher Columbus.
We passed San Antonio Abad hermitage.
Plaza de Santa Domingo.
Plaza de San Agustin.
The Mercado de Vegueta (closed just before we arrived) for our return local bus trip.
A trip to the shop before returning to our ship.

Day 16 - Tuesday 15 October
Cruise Day 7.
Casablanca, Morocco.
We took the cruise ship's shuttle to outside the Old Medina.
We continued walking, past the Arab League Park.
We then arrived at Place Mohammed V, and observed the buildings and people.
Nearby, however, we were able to enter the impressive Mahkama du Pacha, and nearby market.
We then took a taxi back to the waterfront and looked out at Phare d'El Hank.
In the other direction was the magnificent - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hassan_II_Mosque .
We then walked back, via Rick' Cafe and the Old Medina, to take the shuttle back to our ship.

We took the cruise ship's shuttle to outside the Old Medina.

We then walked to the now defunct Cathedrale Sacre Coeur.
We continued walking, past the Arab League Park.
We then arrived at Place Mohammed V, and observed the buildings and people.
We then took a taxi to the Royal Palace, where we could only view 2 of the entrance gates.
Nearby, however, we were able to enter the impressive Mahkama du Pacha, and nearby market.
We then took a taxi back to the waterfront and looked out at Phare d'El Hank.

Nb. It was our second visit to Casablanca.
- Whilst Casablanca has been the least interesting of the Moroccan cities we have previously been to, it should be noted that this 3.5 million person city was only a 3,000 person fishing village 100 years ago!
