Day 34 – Thursday 18 February

Melbourne.

We were met by our friend and fellow traveller, Bronwyn, who drove us home, sweet, home.

On this adventure, we had our first visit to southern Africa.

We had 5 lovely days in South Africa’s “mother city”, Cape Town.

This was followed by 3 days in Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls (to add to our previous visits to the world’s other 2 great waterfalls, Iguazu, in Argentina/Brazil, and Niagara, in Canada/USA), where we also went on safari in Chobe National Park, in Botswana.

We then returned to South Africa for 3 days in Kruger National Park. After travelling along the spectacular Panorama Route, we went on several safaris and saw "The Big 5".

We returned to Cape Town to board the Queen Elizabeth for 3 weeks of relaxation, as we crossed the Indian Ocean (to add to our previous crossings of the other 2 great oceans, the Atlantic and the Pacific), with stops in Port Elizabeth (South Africa), Reunion Island, Mauritius, Fremantle (where we caught up with Amanda & Harjinder) and Adelaide (where we caught up with Glenda & John and Trudy and Mike).

The end of another wonderful holiday.

  1. Glad you enjoyed your trip. It looked to be awe inspiring. Hope South Africa came up to your expectations and maybe exceeded them.
