Day 56 - Wednesday 19 June

We spent the day exploring the beautiful historic city of Annapolis (capital of Maryland and sailing capital of the USA).

 



 

 

 

 

 

Many US cities have selected a particular animal for sculpture displays throughout the city - Annapolis has selected the chook!

Di is pictured next to a statue of Alex Haley (author of Roots), which signifies the arrival point in the USA of the main character, Kunta Kinte.

 

When we stepped off our harbour cruise we walked into the world record finish to "The World's Toughest Bicycle Race" - apparently 7 days to cycle across the USA - pressure's on us!

 

 

 

 Then for dinner we indulged in seafood at - http://www.mikesnorth.com/ - why worry about the eroding Australian dollar and sharemarket!
