Cozumel –
Chichen Itza, Mexico.
An
unplanned, great surprise.
A long day.
After
disembarking in Cozumel (island), we caught the fast ferry (30 Minutes across
choppy waters) to Playa del Carmen, on the Yucatan Peninsula.
We then caught a comfortable 18-person bus on a 2.5 hours journey, with our very informative guide, Armando Chan, along a purpose-built expressway.
We then arrived at the well-preserved ruins at Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage site - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chichen_Itza . We had almost 1.5 hours here.

Nb. Time didn’t permit visits to Cenote Sagrado and El Caracol.
The journey home was on the same bus and ferry.
In the evening, we were entertained with magic and comedy by Jason Andrews.
