Cruise Day
8
Ochos Rios,
Jamaica.
A very disappointing cruise stop. Whilst the environment is lush and enticing, the attractions are extremely touristy and overpriced.
This started with our driver, Dwayne, and his run-down vehicle - U$ 65 for 1.5 hours driving and 1 hour stop.
Our first stop was Dunn's River Falls, a natural beauty, but at U$ 23 pp, for a dry or a wet climb, from beach to top, a rip-off.
Next we stopped at the Blue Hole. Again, another beautiful location, but at U$ 10+ pp, another rip-off. Fortunately, we didn't go in, just took a few photos.
Next we visited Shaw Park, with its great view over the town, port and beach. Again, we avoided entry and the fee.
A stroll through the grotty town, back to our ship, confirmed our disappointment with theis cruise stop.
Fortunately, in the evening, we were entertained by a good tribute band - Queen Flash.
