We then arrived in the legendary town of Deadwood, where it constantly drizzled and was cold.
Deadwood's current population is less than 1,000, but it has over 60 casinos, and the town has burnt down and been rebuilt a few times.
We wandered down the main street, which was the scene of much of the town's notorious 1870s history, visited the very good Adams Museum, and visited the Mount Moriah Cemetery, where Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane and others are buried.
We lunched at Kevin Costner's - themidnightstar.com - which displays lots of KC's movie memorabilia.
We dined at the Deadwood Grand Casino and then watched Kenny Rogers in concert.
We overnighted in Deadwood.
