A day of trees!
We drove north along Highway 101 - https://www.myscenicdrives.com/drives/california/redwood-highway .
We soon found a big redwood (Chandelier) tree with a hole in it!
We then found the world's largest free-standing totem pole.
Di then dropped into Confusion Hill's Shoe Shop.
We stopped at the coastal city of Eureka and had a delicious lunch at the - http://www.cafewaterfronteureka.com/ .
We visited the Fisherman Statue, which honours those "whom the sea sustained .... and those it claimed".
Next stop was at Carson House.
We then stopped to see the world's tallest totem pole (nb. not free-standing) in McKinleyville.
The next stop was to see the Trinidad Lighthouse.
We continued our drive north along the coast.
We stopped to see a buck, his does and his fawns.
We then drove further north to Lady Bird Johnson Grove - http://www.redwoodhikes.com/RNP/LBJ.html , where we had a beautiful stroll through the redwoods.
