Yet another scenic day - today we drove the northern Oregon coastline (which we had previously done in the reverse direction in 2014).
It was overcast and showery as we crossed the Alsea Bay Bridge from Waldport to Bayshore.
We stopped to look at Boiler's Bay.
Another interesting rock formation.
We stopped at the beach at Cape Kiwanda.
The view north from Cape Lookout.
Looking north across Netarts Bay.
The view south from Oswald State Park.
We then drove to the lovely town of Cannon Beach, with its beautiful beach and Haystack Rock.
We then drove to Astoria and viewed the following sights:
The Astoria Column.
Young's River.
The Astoria-Megler Bridge - the 4+ mile bridge, across the Columbia River, from Astoria, Oregon to Washington state.
The Flavel Mansion.
We then drove to Portland, where we spent the evening, and farewelled Jo & Pete, who were returning home to St Louis the next morning - a great time spent with great friends!
Beautiful photos of canon beach!!
