A lovely Fall day, interspersed with showers.
We decided not to drive today, but to rely on Portland's excellent public transport system.
We crossed the Willamette River into the well-laid out downtown.

We then went to the beautiful Washington Park and wandered around for an hour.
We then went to the vibrant Northwest District neighbourhood, for a wander down NW 23rd Avenue, and lunch at - http://www.papahaydn.com/phw-location-hours/ .
We then went up to - http://pittockmansion.org/ -, where we strolled around the magnificent gardens, before walking down the winding streets of the exclusive King's Heights neighbourhood.
