We spent the morning looking at Kingman's Route 66 attractions, including the very good Route 66 Museum. Lunch was at Mr. D'z Diner.
We then continued our Route 66 journey, first stopping at Cool Springs (Arizona) - the owner has all but one of the 50 Rolling Stones' albums signed by members of the group on display!
We then drove through the Black Mountains, which has some very narrow and winding Route 66.
Next stop was the Wild Western town of Oatman (Arizona), with their resident burros.
Just before we arrived at the Colorado River (border between Arizona and California), we had our first motor vehicle incident - we stopped on the side of the road for another picture-stop when our SUV got stuck in the sand. Fortunately within a minute of our problem, 2 Arizonians pulled up and helped us out.
We then crossed the border and continued our Route 66 journey - some very long and flat stretches, and finally arrived in Barstow (California) for the night.
