Day 84 - Wednesday 17 July

We checked out some Route 66 attractions in Barstow.

We then continued heading west along Route 66, stopping at some more attractions, including the Bottle Tree Ranch - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g32834-d3227821-Reviews-Elmer_Long_s_Bottle_Tree_Ranch-Oro_Grande_California.html.

We had lunch at - http://www.yelp.com/biz/emma-jeans-holland-burger-cafe-victorville. Hummingbirds were dining here as well.

We then continued our drive as far as San Bernardino, before departing Route 66, a very steep decline with the first appearance of LA traffic.

We drove east to Palm Springs, where we will stay for 4 days. Weird driving in - unfortunately, there are mountain fires nearby. Whilst we are safe, the ash and the haze are very evident. We are staying at the beautiful - http://www.alcazarpalmsprings.com/ .
