Day 23 - Wednesday 17 June

We drove 5 hours south-west from Dresden to Schweinfurt, through beautiful countryside, on small roads and on autobahns.

First stop was at Schloss Augustusburg, a grand summer castle and hunting lodge - interesting but probably not worth the detour.

Late afternoon, we arrived in Bamberg, in north Bavaria, and walked around the beautiful historic city centre, which is a UNESCO world heritage listed site, and had a delicious Bavarian dinner at Kachelofen.
