Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
This is the best maintained and restructured medieval town we have seen (40% was destroyed during World War II).
The day started by walking past a local wedding.
Then we visited the German Christmas Museum - very interesting, This is within Kathe Wohlfahrt's Christmas Village - the biggest and maybe the best Christmas shops that Di has been in!
Next we visited St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, with a statue of its patron St. James outside. Inside there is the Altar of the Holy Blood and the Twelve Apostles Altar, which has the original 1350s stained glassed windows behind it.
We then went on a very interesting walking tour of the town.
Then Bill climbed up the tower of the Rathaus (town hall) for views over the town and the countryside.
The rest of the day was spent wandering around admiring this beautiful town.
