Day 38 - Monday 19 May

Today was spent in and around Alaska's capital city, Juneau, in cold and rainy conditions. Nevertheless we had an exhilarating day.

First we went out in Auke Bay, where we saw several whales, sea lions and bald-headed eagles (for once I wish I had a professional camera).

Next we were driven to Mendenhall Glacier, where we then walked to and from Nugget Falls.

On return to Juneau we wandered around town, stopping to shop and take some photos, including the Red Dog Saloon (which has Wyatt Earp's gun hung over the bar), the "Windfall Fisherman" statue in front of the State Capitol building and St Nicholas Orthodox Church.
