This morning was spent in the Alaskan city of Ketchikan, which hails as the salmon capital of the world, home to the greatest collection of totem poles in the world, and the rainiest place in Alaska.
We observed several bald-headed eagles and one of their nests.
The frontier spirit is depicted by Creek Street, said to be the most photographed street in Alaska - this was once the red light district, but is now populated with shops and restaurants.
We departed at midday with the weather rapidly deteriorating. The evening's sailing was rough.
