Barcelona, Spain (Day 3 of 7).
Our friend, Monique, joined us for breakfast in the Mercat
de Sant Josep de la Boqueria.
We then started another walking day, first partaking in a guided
tour of the spectacular Palau de la Musica Catalana.
We then strolled to the Arc de Triomf de Barcelona.
We then visited the Museu de la Xocolata, and sampled some
of the products.
Next, we visited the Mercat del Born, the historic market
building, now an exhibition of its history.
We then strolled through the lovely Parc de la Ciutadella, with its
ornate fountain (partly Gaudi-designed) and the Parliament of Catalonia
building.
We then walked to the Barcelona’s waterfront, the home of the Barcelona Fish.
We then caught a bus to the Columbus Monument, walked through the charming Placa Reial, had a quick dnner nearby, then went back to our hotel to rest our weary legs and feet.
